Your Appointment

What to expect at your appointment:

To access Dr Jacqui Clark, Specialist Pain Physiotherapist, you need a written referral from a registered health care provider (doctor, physio, osteopath, chiropractor etc.)

Your initial appointment
will take 60 minutes.
Jacqui will take a detailed history, ask you to complete some pain and sensitivity questionnaires and do some physical and sensory processing assessments.
From this information Jacqui will discuss your difficulties with you and work along side you to tailor a treatment plan.
Follow-up appointments will be made to suit you so that we can make progress. Most follow-ups will take 30 minutes although longer may be necessary at your convenience.
What happens in an appointment
  • Assess your pain type - neuropathic, nociceptive or central sensitisation and possible related causes.
  • Explore and discuss your lived experiences and contexts in which you find yourself experiencing your symptoms:
e.g. sleep, movement, rest vs stress, possible stressors and sensitivities, work and home contexts etc.,
  • Advise you on ways to regain control of your symptoms and design a comprehensive pathway towards your goals.
  • Teach you some home strategies to retrain sensory processing in your brain and body.
