For physios working in predominantly 'chronic pain management'.

About sensory processing, sensory hyper-sensitivity and its relevance to pain
​Case studies & clinical video clips

Subjective assessment
  • Questionnaires and interpretation – the focus will be on sensory hypersensitivity and Defensive High Anxious personality types
  • Address fear avoidance, multiple treatment seeking behaviours, trauma and anxiety
  • Sleep, food, stress, exercise, CNS history
Physical Assessment
  • Postural awareness and Balance
  • Midline crossing
  • Oculomotor function
  • Supine sensory feedback & tactility; 
  • Application of relevant primitive reflex assessments
Subjective Advisory
  • Pain science education 
  • Self management strategies to reduce sensory sensitivity and overwhelm.
Physical Rehab
  • Breathing strategies, 'sensory grounding'
  • Postural awareness – sensory feedback
  • Midline crossing exercises
  • Oculomotor retraining
  • Application of primitive reflex inhibition exercises
